Sheffield Doc Fest returns for a landmark 30th edition from 14 – 19 June 2023 across multiple venues in the city. Docfest is the UK’s leading documentary festival spanning film, television, immersive and art. There is a programme of 100+ film screenings, a host of exhibitions, immersive installations, panel events and inspiring talks with famous names.
Arctic Monkeys return to Sheffield for a headline gig ahead of their performance at Glastonbury. The homecoming shows take place on 9 & 10 June and follow the release of their latest album, The Car. They’re taking over Hillsborough Park for their biggest-ever Sheffield show yet.
Jack Whitehall returns to Utilita Arena Sheffield with his new Settle Down Tour on Tuesday 20 June 2023. Simply hop on the tram outside the Leopold Hotel and hop off directly outside the Utilita Arena – no stressing in traffic or queuing in taxis!

Legendary band Pulp reunites once again, returning to Sheffield Utilita Arena for two homecoming shows this July on 14 & 15, Fellow Sheffielder and friend of the band Richard Hawley will also be joining as special guest support.
The British Summer Swimming Championships 2023 season culminates in an end-of-season competition opportunity for athletes from 22 to 28 July, at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre. Walkable from the Leopold Hotel or simply hop on the tram that stops outside both venues.
The University of Sheffield Graduation is a momentous occasion every year and the city comes alive with students and visitors. From 17 to 21 July hundreds of students and their families come to celebrate and Leopold Square is a mecca for some fantastic memorable photos.

Sheffield by the Seaside will be back from 27 July to 29 August with a whole host of sun seeking fun including fairground rides, games, a giant sandpit, visiting dinosaurs and TV/film characters, kids entertainment and a whole lot more. Sheffield DM is happening in a bigger and better venue for 2023. The Digital Marketing Summit is taking place in The Octagon Centre (part of the University of Sheffield campus) across multiple stages with talks, insights and workshops with some of the country’s leading marketing experts.

Art in the Gardens, one of the largest outdoor art markets in the North of England, returns to Sheffield’s beautiful Botanical Gardens on the 2 & 3 of September. You can browse and buy stalls with work from dozens of local artists and craft makers. There are food stalls too so you can make a day of it.
Rock & Roll Circus returns to Sheffield’s Don Valley Bowl on 1 & 2 of September and promises to be as weird and wacky as ever. A mix between a music festival and a circus, headline acts include Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Happy Mondays, The Cribs, Self Esteem and many more. There will be dance and street performances as well as food trucks and lots of circus-themed fun all within a short tram ride away from the Leopold Hotel – so travel stress free and door-2-door!
Sheffield 10K 2023 takes place on 24 September this year and attracts runners from all over the country to compete. Hosted in partnership with Sheffield City Council, the Sheffield 10K is set right in the heart of the city and the enthusiastic local support is contagious.
