This year, for the 47th consecutive year, the famous competition will be held at the Crucible Theatre from 15 April to 1 May 2023. The 980-seater Crucible theatre has a contract to host the Betfred World Snooker Championship action until 2027 which will mark the 100th anniversary of the first-ever event. The prizes are substantial for this live, televised event. First place takes home £100,000, runner-up takes £40,000, semi-finalist brings home £20,000 and quarter-finalist a respectable £12,500. We expect to see all of the big names in snooker making an appearance at this prestigious event, fighting for the title of overall winner for 2023.
