Sheffield Christmas Market
After a year off, Sheffield’s popular Christmas market is set to make its return, bringing some well-deserved festive cheer to the city. Returning to the Peace Gardens in Sheffield city centre from November 12th, the market is packed with over 50 cabins, the brilliant Alpine Bar and the iconic big wheel – fun for all the family. The cabins house local traders and shops selling everything you’ll need for Christmas – gifts, food and drink, craft and homemade trinkets, baked treats, home decor and so much more. After browsing the stalls, you can enjoy a delicious meal from one of the many food stalls serving festive treats, washed down with a warm glass of mulled wine. It doesn’t get any better than that
Christmas markets open 10 am-6 pm Sunday-Thursday, and 10 am-8 pm Fridays and Saturdays.
Panto in Sheffield
Panto is a tradition we love in Sheffield and is a great family activity passed down through generations. We have a great variety of shows in theatres around the city this year. One of the best this year is the excellent Sleeping Beauty in Lyceum Theatre. Enjoy performances by comedy great Janine Duvitski, legendary Dame Damian Williams and actor, presenter and comic Ben Thornton. Enjoy lavish sets, fantastic costumes and jokes that are fun for all of the family. This hilarious, fun-filled panto is great for all ages from groups of friends to families looking to make new memories. Everyone wants to revisit the Panto this year so don’t delay, buy your tickets as soon as you can.
Sheffield Christmas Lights
It’s the lights that make the city the festive wonderland we love. Imagine wandering along the busy streets admiring thousands of twinkling lights and the gorgeous city Christmas tree. This year the Christmas lights will be officially switched on on 15th November between 3-6pm in many locations around the city. The 2021 event will include choirs, Santa’s grotto, carolling, panto, street entertainment, Christmas markets, children’s tv and film characters, Christmas craft activities, fairground rides and more. Heart Yorkshire will host a stage programme with a mix of Christmas music, entertainment and interviews and a very special guest switching on the lights, to be announced closer to the date. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for more information and to buy tickets.
