Sheffield will come alive in August 2017 with the influx of athletes taking part in this year’s Special Olympics Great Britain National Summer Games and the Leopold Hotel Sheffield is proud to be a city central accommodation venue at the heart of these unique games.

The events will take place in the city of Sheffield between 7th-12th August 2017 and is the country’s largest multi-sports event for athletes with intellectual disabilities to be held in 2017. We eagerly await the arrival of around 2,600 athletes with intellectual disabilities of all ages and abilities from all corners of the UK and look forward to sharing in their successes across all disciplines.

Being based at the Leopold Hotel you are so close to all of the action, enjoy either walking to the sporting venues or catching a short tram ride from directly outside the hotel itself.  In a matter of minutes you can be in Ponds Forge International Sports Centre for the aquatics, Ice Sheffield for the Artistic Gymnastics or even the Sheffield Hallam University City Athletics Centre for the Athletics. Much more information can be found on the official website and we wish all the competitors and supporters a superb Summer Games.
